FINELY RENOVATED APARTMENTS

All apartments are furnished with great care and respect for Tuscan tradition, with terracotta floors and characteristic wooden beamed ceilings. The villa is located in a beautiful location in the heart of Montagnola, a beautiful hilly and wooded zone declared “Site of Community Importance” by the European Union, only 10 km and few minutes drive from the center of Siena; and is located in the immediate vicinity of the famous “Via Francigena”, with the possibility of beautiful walks starting directly from the house. Ideal for those who want a peaceful holiday and relaxation. Outer space, a real park bigger than 3 acres, allowing guests to each apartment to be able to isolate in perfect tranquility and enjoy in a “heart space”, also includes a nice pool whose use is restricted to guests, with chairs and umbrellas, as well as tables and chairs. Very quiet and relaxing, ideal for families or groups of friends who want to maintain their privacy.

Sport & Wellness

The area offers many possibilities for different activities both sporting and recreational, we list some, but not limited:

SPORTS
– Walking and hiking
Starting directly from “Borgo dei Fondi” you can enjoy walks on the many easy trails between woods, fields, small villages and parishes.
The trails are marked by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) and, upon request, will provide maps.
it is possible, on request (see link), make Nordic Walking excursions with authorized guide;
Horse riding
Siena is an ideal area for this type of tourism; in the vicinity there are many riding schools and it is possible to organize small tours of a few hours with qualified guides (see link);
Cycling
The Senese area is famous among fans of the sport for all the opportunities it offers, just remember two great “classic” of modern cycling: “Le Strade Bianche”, UCI from 2015 and part of the “World Tour 2017” and the no less famous” L’Eroica “, a cycling event which takes place since 1997 in the province of Siena, which has the particularity to recall the cycling of the past, with routes that take place mostly on dirt roads with antique bicycles. Usually it held the first Sunday in October.
It is also ‘possible (see links) rent bikes of all kinds (mountain bikes, road and electric bikes) with delivery directly at the house; as well you can organize bike tours with experienced guides.
WELLNESS
Tuscany is one of the Italian regions with the largest number of Thermal Spa and the province of Siena offers a wide selection of these. A Rapolano Terme, Bagno Vignoni and Petriolo are some of the most known and appreciated spas, but there is also the opportunity to enjoy thermal waters “in nature” , directly in spontaneous springs that are situated in the Siena area.

LA VIA FRANCIGENA

The route of the Via Francigena is inextricably linked, history tells us, to Sigerico, Archbishop of Canterbury, who in 990, he went to Rome to receive the investiture of Pope John XV.
Sigerico left a detailed description of his journey, for each of the 79 stages or locations in which, he and his entourage, they stopped for the night, as documented by a precious manuscript that is now part of the Cotton Collection of the British Library in London.
This track, walked for centuries by pilgrims, merchants and armies that from England and France went or came from Rome, has been recovered and now, thanks to the efforts of the Tuscany Region and the various municipalities, you can walk or ride the whole route on foot or by bike .
Tuscany is crossed completely in the longitudinal direction and right in the Siena County runs the longest stretch (with 5 steps) and perhaps more beautiful; from San Gimignano to Radicofani , the Siena area is a treasure chest of natural, cultural and historical gems.
In particular, a few hundred meters from Borgo dei Fondi (exactly at the hermitage of San Leonardo al Lago), passes the path of the 11th stage Monteriggioni – Siena. A wonderful opportunity for a unique experience, even for a few hours, reaching these places on foot or by bike, amidst a beautiful nature and history.
